Exclusive Interview-Kareena Kapoor
living a life out of a suitcase. Always on the go, as she's got her pretty fingers dipped in too many pies - movies, book launches, shoots for international magazines, collecting the numerous awards conferred on her and of course her doting boyfriend Saif Ali Khan. So how does she manage all of this?
Kareena Kapoor: 'I can't begin to explain how I'm managing all this. 'After Jab We Met', that's more than one and a half years ago, I've been on the run. I must have met my niece, sister and parents for hardly four hours in this time. My dad said 'I'm going to put a stop to all this. What is the point of all these awards and adulation if I don't get to have one meal with you.' I've promised him quality time post June,'
DH!: You were the recipient for the award for the woman achiever of the year which you received from environmentalist, Erin Brokovich. Tell me your thoughts about it.
Kareena Kapoor: 'It's a special award to win especially when you know that a famous personality is flying down to give it to you... I still think it's too soon for me to receive this award. I have a lot more to achieve.'
DH!: What's it like to have been voted the youth icon of the year?
Kareena Kapoor: 'Oh that's a responsibility! I need to be cautious of every step I take because young girls are watching and following me. In just a period of one month I have got all these awards and now there's the FICCI award too. It's great, but at the same time I haven't been able to enjoy them. I get all dressed up and go to collect these awards and the next moment I know I'm jet setting for another assignment.'
DH!: What do you and Saif Ali Khan have planned for Valentine's Day?
Kareena Kapoor: 'We haven't planned anything but we are just happy that we will be together that day. I think even Valentine, like all the other festivals we have missed, we will celebrate post June!'
DH!: Your diet is important to you so much so that you have written a book on it. Can you speak on changes you had to make in your diet to fit certain roles in your films.
Kareena Kapoor: "For Renzil's film I gained weight, for 'Main aur Mrs. Khanna' I had to be underweight as I play an NRI. I constantly change myself according to the film I do,'
DH!: Are you pleased with the response you are getting on your book?
Kareena Kapoor : "It's quite surprising for me to know that people want to know what Kareena eats!"
It seems like people are interested in anything this successful young actress does ! Whether it's about her relationship with Saif or the most recent award she's won Kareena is always on the radar! You go girl!
